Single-Vehicle Wreck Ejects 1, Injures 2 Others in DeWitt

DeWitt, NY — A single-vehicle crash in DeWitt left three people with injuries, including one person who was ejected from the vehicle. The automobile accident occurred on Interstate 481, about a half-mile north of Jamesville Road around 3:20 a.m. on Tuesday, April 10, 2012, Syracuse.com reports.

Police officials are still looking into what caused the Toyota to veer off the road and who was driving at the time. It is unknown at this time if drugs and/or alcohol were a factor.

Responding emergency crews rushed one person, who was ejected from the vehicle, in critical condition to an area hospital for medical treatment of head trauma.

A second person sustained a broken leg and several deep cuts. They are reportedly in stable condition.

A third victim sustained minor hand pain in the wreck. They were able to flag down a passing motorist for help.

The identities of those involved in the crash are being withheld at this time.

Investigations into the automobile accident are underway.
