Phoenix, AZ—Three teens were airlifted after being involved in a high-speed collision in West Phoenix on Tuesday night, November 30, 2010. The injurious automobile crash occurred near 63rd Avenue and McDowell Road, as reported by KSWT News.

According to the Phoenix Fire Department, three teens, identified as two 17-year-olds and one 16-year-old, were traveling at a high-rate of speed when the teenage driver hit a pickup truck, causing the driver to lose control and roll into oncoming traffic where it slammed into another full-sized pickup truck.

A responding emergency medical helicopter airlifted the three teenagers to the Phoenix trauma center for treatment of their serious injuries acquired in the wreck.

EMS crews transported two people form the pickup trucks to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries they sustained in the accident. Three others refused medical treatment.

The identities of those involved have not been released at this time.

A full investigation is underway. It was not reported if drugs and/or alcohol were involved.
