Cedar Rapids Construction Accident: Worker Dead After Fall at Univ. of Iowa

Cedar Rapids, IA– A fall at a University of Iowa construction site left a worker with life threatening injuries that proved fatal on Monday, August 3, 2010. The worker fell on Thursday, August 26, 2010, while renovating the exterior of the UI Boyd Law Building, as reported by the Press-Citizen.
Authorities are unsure how far Tom Fosdick, 49, fell while renovating the exterior of the UI building. The details surrounding the accident are still unknown.
Fosdick was rushed to a nearby hospital where he remained until his injuries proved fatal on Monday.
Swanson Glass reportedly employed Fosdick at the time.
Iowa Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) are investigating the accident. OSHA officials will be determining if there were any safety violations.
A full investigation is currently underway.
