Washington product liability - Toys-lead paint violation alert!

Action figures sold in Dollar Stores recalled for lead paint violations


The CPSC has recalled over 8,000 toys exceeding the lead paint limit.

Washington product liability lawyers-Safety regulators recall action figure toys with lead paint sold in Oregon and Washington Dollar Stores.

Lakewood, WA–Liquidation Outlet, Inc. has participated in a voluntary recall of approximately 8,400 units of various action figure toys. Liquidation Outlet is a distributor based out of Lakewood, Washington. The action figures were recalled after discovering the toys contained more than 0.06% lead in the paint, violating the federal lead paint ban. Safety regulators for the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) www.cpsc.gov announced the recall on August 27, 2009.

The following items are under federal recall:

- Force Soldier Playsets bearing a SKU number of 70134. The plastic bag contains two soldiers, measuring 5” in height, a tree, machine guns, and an airplane

- Pirate Expeditions with Parrot and Pirate Expeditions with Treasure bearing a SKU number of 70136. The blister packs contain action figures measuring 6.5” in height, either a parrot or treasure chest, and other accessories

The recalled toys retailed for $1 at Dollar Stores in Oregon and Washington. They were on sale from September 2007 to July 2009. The products were made in China. No injuries related to the recalled toys have been reported. The Pierce County firm urges consumers to stop children from using the recalled items. A complete refund or exchange is available at the Dollar Store of purchase. Consumers can email the company at info@loidistributing.com or call toll-free at 877-257-5990 for additional information. You can also visit your nearest Dollar Store in person with questions regarding the recall. If your child has been injured due to use of the recalled toy, you may be entitled to compensation for damages.
