Texas bound Greyhound Bus tire blowout injures 21 passengers A Greyhound bus tire blew out on Alabama’s I-20 en route to Dallas, Texas.
Dallas, TX(JusticeNewsFlash.com)–A Greyhound bus, carrying 31 passengers which originated in Atlanta, Georgia, bound for Dallas, Texas, crashed on westbound Interstate 20 in Alabama, Monday morning. As reported by The Birmingham News, the Greyhound bus driver experienced a blowout, in the front driver’s side tire. The driver lost control, struck a median guardrail on I-20, and crashed into a bridge column near exit 165 near Lincoln, Alabama.
According to Lincoln Police Department officers, 21 of the 31 passengers were injured in the bus tire blowout, and two were transported, by emergency medical helicopter, to the University of Alabama Hospital at Birmingham. Police officers diverted traffic on I-20 at exit 173 to U.S. Highway 78, while emergency medical crews tended to the injured passengers and cleared the bus wreckage. Greyhound sent a relief bus to the highway automobile accident scene to transport uninjured passengers to their final destinations through Birmingham, Alabama, and into Dallas, Texas. Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate the tragic bus crash.
