Bayometric, a global leader in biometric technology and identity solutions, proudly announces the launch of its enhanced mobile identity platform by integrating the FBI-certified Sherlock FAP-45 fingerprint scanner into the XF rugged Android™ smart device. This cutting-edge solution delivers unmatched biometric accuracy and field reliability for law enforcement, government agencies, and public safety organizations requiring dependable identity verification on the move.

The XF device, developed by Two Technologies, is engineered for tough environments, where speed, durability, and accuracy are critical. Now equipped with Integrated Biometrics’ Sherlock FAP-45 fingerprint module, the XF can capture both two-finger flat and single-finger flat/roll fingerprints with high resolution and precision.

The FAP-45 scanner complies with key biometric standards, including Mobile ID IQS FAP 45, GSA, FIPS 201, FBI Appendix F, and PIV certifications. Its addition transforms the XF into a field-ready biometric powerhouse capable of supporting identity checks in high-security locations such as border control stations, correctional facilities, and remote tactical operations.

Rugged and reliable, the XF device is IP65 rated, offering robust protection against dust and water intrusion. With a hot-swappable supplemental battery, the unit can operate for extended periods without downtime. Optional hardware upgrades include a 3-inch integrated thermal printer for issuing receipts or documentation on-site, and a 1D/2D barcode scanner for rapid reading of IDs, badges, or inventory.

At the heart of the platform is Bayometric’s advanced Live Scan Solution—an adaptable software framework trusted by major agencies like the FBI, ATF, FDLE, DSS, FINRA, and departments of public safety across several U.S. states. The software is modular by design, allowing organizations to tailor biometric workflows to their exact needs.

Available software modules include:

  • Fingerprint Image Capture
  • Print to Card
  • EFT File Creator
  • Driver’s License Add-On
  • Face Capture
  • Signature Capture

Bayometric also offers two specialized kits for extended functionality:

  • Jumpkit: A portable biometric station designed for remote deployments and mobile field agents.
  • Card Conversion Kit: A system that digitizes legacy ink fingerprint cards into electronic FBI-compliant formats.

In addition, developers and IT teams can utilize Bayometric’s SDK (Software Development Kit) to embed biometric capabilities directly into custom-built applications or existing infrastructure, enhancing system interoperability and data efficiency.

“This launch reflects our commitment to bringing powerful biometric tools into the field, where real-time identity verification can make a critical difference,” said a spokesperson for Bayometric. “The XF with FAP-45 scanner offers mobility, precision, and reliability all in one streamlined solution.”
