Fort Worth, TX, June 22, 2016 – During a special ceremony held at the Paul Laurence Dunbar High School in Fort Worth, Texas, Dallas Attorney Amy Witherite, partner of the law firm of Eberstein & Witherite, LLP, presented a total of 9 graduating students with $1,000 each as part of the firm’s Making a Difference Scholarship.  See the entire event on our blog with pictures of each students.

These students come from all walks of life and must work extremely hard to be considered for this award.  While academic achievements are part of what is taken into consideration for the Making a Difference Scholarship, it is only one aspect of the total package. Each of the recipients have demonstrated a desire to pursue further education, participated in a number of on-campus activities and organizations, and been active members of their communities.

“At Eberstein & Witherite, our mission is to give back to the community that supports us by helping students who have excelled academically thus far to achieve their dreams,” Witherite said. “With this scholarship fund, our hope is that these outstanding young men and women will be able to continue their education and become successful in their lives.”

The Making a Difference scholarship was originally intended for only 2 graduating students each year. This year, however, Witherite was able to sit in on the interview panel and found it impossible to narrow down the field to just 2 deserving students.

Each of the young men and women nominated and presented with the Making a Difference scholarship this year far exceeded the baseline requirements established to qualify for the scholarship.

“This year’s scholarship recipients have set the bar very high for those that will come behind them,” Witherite added.  “But we are steadfast in our commitment to continue presenting this scholarship to future graduates so that they too can pursue their educational goals.”
