The attorneys of Fort Worth personal injury law firm Eberstein Witherite LLP will be presenters at the upcoming I.M. Terrell Career Day event for a consecutive year. The annual event hosted by I.M. Terrell Elementary School has been developed to help make local students more knowledgeable about available career options prior to them pursuing a higher education. This year’s event will take place on Friday, April 22nd. Eberstein Witherite co-founder Amy Witherite, and three additional lawyers with the firm, Shelly Greco, John Nohinek and Kris Heald will make presentations to students about the practice of law and what is involved in pursuing it as a professional career path.

Lucy Tiseo, who coordinates community projects for Eberstein Witherite LLP will also be providing lunch coolers to students. Says Tiseo of the event, “We are thrilled to have this opportunity for another year because so many students are unaware that many of the decisions that they make today will impact their future for years to come. It is important that they are given the right exposure to positive influences that will help them stay on the right path.”

About I.M. Terrell Elementary

Named after Isaiah Milligan Terrell, principal of Fort Worth’s first free public school for students of color until 1915, I.M. Terrell Elementary has a unique history in serving the educational needs of local students. Career Day is one example of the many initiatives that have been put in place to help decrease dropout rates and encourage students to pursue college degrees. A number of students in the district are not exposed to various types of career fields without such initiatives.

According to Fort Worth attorney Amy Witherite, “statistics show that Fort Worth is among the top 12 locations with a graduation rate average that is below the national average. We as community leaders have to do our part to help motivate public school students in ways that yield far more positive outcomes for their future.”

The lawyer further says “I personally, am excited to again have the opportunity to speak to young people about their future and all of the extraordinary opportunities that await them down the line with hard work.”
