About Rising Stars and the Candidate Selection Process
The process for generating the annual “Rising Stars” attorney list is one that has been patented by The United States Patent and Trademark Office. The multiphase selection process is recognized by the Super Lawyers organization as one that is impartial and demonstrates significance for attorneys as well as consumers. Lawyers considered for candidacy are chosen from a pool of attorneys who have backgrounds in over 70 areas of legal practice. Only approximately 2.5 percent of lawyers are given the “Rising Stars” distinction.

Nominees are voted on by their professional peers before being subjected to a validation process, and subsequent evaluation by a panel of esteemed lawyers who make the final selections.
The list of Rising Stars is published in Super Lawyers Magazine across the United States, reaching more than an estimated 13 million readers nationwide.

Fort Worth personal injury attorney Kris Heald is a graduate of Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. The lawyer chose to pursue his educational goals in Texas after relocating from Florida. Heald began his legal career representing plaintiffs in insurance company claims.
