Pennsylvania – Months after a judge declared actress Sherri Shepherd to be the legal parent of a child that was carried via surrogate, she has agreed to a child support order. According to the UK Daily Mail Shepherd, 47, was not in attendance at the previous hearing but was recently ordered to help support the child financially.

Shepherd and her ex-husband Lamar Sally have been embroiled in a lengthy court battle over the child that they reportedly agreed to have together while they were still married. Sally has claimed that the former co-host of “The View” expressed wanting nothing to do with the child, who is now in his care.

Sally previously told TMZ, “I want her to go on television and apologize the same way that she went on there and accused me of being a gold digger and tricking her into having a baby.”

The child was born in August. Sally, a former script writer, also told the Daily Mail of his ongoing battle with Shepherd over care of the child, “I want her to co-parent with me like we agreed… Sherri is the one who initiated the surrogacy and we agreed to do this together, she wanted this child more than anything.”

Since then Shepherd has agreed to pay $4,100 in child support, which will increase with the child turns 13.
