Los Angeles  – Actress Kelly Rutherford was recently granted temporary sole custody of her children amid a long custody battle. According to a CNN report, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Mark Juhas ruled that the two children be returned to the United States from Monaco, where they reside with their father Daniel Giersch.

Rutherford and Giersch divorced in 2010 after separating in 2008. They married in 2006 and share a 5-year-old daughter Helena, and an eight-year-old son Hermes. Rutherford’s lawyers say she was denied access to seeing her children during a recent trip to France.

Rutherford's attorney, David Glass, said in an email of the recent judge’s order, “We are pleased that the Los Angeles Superior Court acted swiftly on Friday, May 22nd to confirm its continuing jurisdiction over the custody matter and the parties' two children… We remain hopeful that Mr. Giersch, after reviewing the Orders, will cooperate fully and assist us in peacefully transferring the children to Kelly's custody.”

Another court hearing in the case is scheduled for June 15.
