Oklahoma – The Oklahoma Supreme Court has decided to dismiss an appeal by Sue Ann Hamm, who is the ex-wife of billionaire Harold Hamm, in their divorce settlement case. As reported by The Associated Press (AP), the high court ruled 7-2 in favor of energy tycoon Hamm, who is CEO and chairman of Continental Resources Inc.

Harold Hamm filed a motion to have his ex-wife’s appeal of their divorce settlement, which included her being awarded nearly $1 billion, dismissed.

Sue Ann Hamm argued that the amount was not enough because it was only a fraction of their estimated accumulated wealth, which is stated to be around $18 billion. The divorce settlement was approved by an Oklahoma judge in November.

Sue Ann Hamm filed for divorce in 2012. The pair were married for over 20 years.
