Argentina – A woman who has been nicknamed the “Black Widow of Facebook” has been accused of using the social network to set men up to be robbed. As reported by Fox News Latino, Argentinian con-artist Sofia Davila, has been accused of luring men to different hotel rooms prior to drugging and robbing them.

Davila is stated to have reported the thefts to authorities in one instance, claiming the men involved had forced her to leave the apartment and could not stop them. However, police became suspicious of her story after several men called police to report being robbed by a woman after meeting her on Facebook.

A police spokesperson is quoted as stating of the matter, “This was the first time the woman had actually shown up herself though, but because she matched the description we already had we decided to hold her for questioning.”

The spokesperson further stated, “As soon as we spoke to the victim we knew she was the woman behind the robberies and it only took a little while before we had a full confession. We also found that the man had been drugged.”

Davila told police that she was forced to engage in the criminal activities to pay off debts she owed to a drug dealer. She and two accomplices are currently awaiting trial.
