California – A student who attended the University of California, Berkeley who had been reported missing over the weekend died in a car crash. As reported by Reuters, 19-year-old freshman, Eloi Vasquez, was identified as a pedestrian who was killed after being hit by a car in Los Angeles on Saturday.

Vasquez was reportedly last seen leaving a fraternity party after expressing his intentions to go for a walk. He was struck while walking on a freeway around 2:25 Saturday morning. The accident occurred approximately a mile from the campus of the University of Southern California.

Los Angeles Police Department Officer Tony Im stated that Vasquez was identified by coroner’s investigators.

Im is quoted as stating of the incident, “The family is understandably very distraught and has respectfully asked for privacy.”
