Indiana – A man drove off of a bridge while following a GPS navigation system. As reported by CNET, the man, 64-year-old Iftikhar Hussain survived, but his wife died in the crash after the vehicle plunged 37 feet down.

According to police, there are signs and barricades that caution drivers that the ramp that leads to the demolished Cline Bridge in Indiana is closed. The bridge was closed in 2009.

A spokesperson for the Lake County Sheriff’s office is quoted as stating to the Times of Munster of the bridge, “The Cline Avenue bridge is marked with numerous barricades including orange barrels and cones, large wood signs stating ROAD CLOSED with orange striped markings. There are concrete barricades across the road to further indicate the road is closed.”

According to the report, the Hussain’s were reportedly traveling to visit family. The couple was from Chicago.
