New York – Journalist Lara Logan was recently hospitalized for complications stemming from her being sexually assaulted in 2011. As reported by WebProNews, the journalist has been hospitalized multiple times since the attack for a range of issues including internal bleeding.

In the 2011 attack Logan was purposefully separated from her crew and bodyguard while doing a report on Arab Spring during celebrations in Tahrir square in Egypt. She was assaulted by multiple men for approximately 25 minutes before being rescued by a group of Egyptian women.

Logan is quoted as stating of the attack during an interview given after she recovered, “There was no doubt in my mind that I was in the process of dying … I thought not only am I going to die, but it’s going to be just a torturous death that’s going to go on forever.”

Logan has reportedly continued to struggle with physical and emotional injuries since surviving the attack.
