Los Angeles – A former “Power Rangers” actor accused of murder has been released after being held on suspicion. As reported by CBSLA.com, the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office has stated that charges will not be pursued against Ricardo Medina, Jr., 36, in the stabbing death of his roommate, Joshua Sutter, pending further investigation.

As noted in the report, according to authorities, Medina and Sutter got involved in an altercation at their home on the day of the killing. Medina reportedly told detectives that he stabbed Sutter with a sword in self-defense when Sutter entered his room.

Medina, who called 911 to report the stabbing, was subsequently arrested.

An investigation into the matter is ongoing.
