New York – After Jennifer Aniston opened up in an interview with The New York Times about her relationship with Daniel McDonald, who passed away in 2007, his widow released a statement expressing discontent over headlines about her comments. As reported by WebProNews, Mujah Maraini-Melehi stated that the headlines suggesting the actress had suffered a tragic loss were upsetting.

Maraini-Melehi is quoted as saying in a statement sent to Inside Edition, “I am sorry that Jennifer did not realize the treasure that was Daniel when she had the chance, long before he and I met and long before he died. It pains me to read the headlines that allude to her losing him tragically when in fact she was not present during his long and difficult illness.”

Maraini-Melehi further commented that she reached out to Aniston following her husband’s death seeking to return pictures of him and the star, but did not receive a reply. McDonald died of brain cancer at the age of 46.
