Texas – The bodies of an elderly Texas couple were found following what may have been a murder-suicide at an assisted living facility. As reported by Reuters, the man and woman, Joe and Georgianne Woolum, who are stated to have been in their 90s, were found laying in bed side-by-side with gunshot wounds to their heads.

According to police, no one at Fort Worth-area assisted living facility Whitley Place was said to have heard gunshots prior to the discovery.

Lieutenant Brenda Slovak, a spokeswoman for Keller Police, is quoted as stating of the couple, “There was no evidence of any marital problems between them…We understand that she had some type of medical issues.”

Greg Boemer, who is vice president of operations for Capital Senior Living, which is the parent company of Whitley Place, is further quoted as stating, “We are deeply saddened by the loss of two of our residents early this morning.”
