Texas – A second nurse involved in the treatment of now deceased Ebola patient Thomas Eric Duncan at a Texas hospital has tested positive for the deadly virus. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), it was unclear as of Wednesday how the nurse, 29-year-old Amber Joy Vinson, contracted the virus.

The Dallas nurse reportedly took a flight to Ohio and reported having a fever the day after she retuned home. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Tom Frieden has stated that Vinson should not have boarded and commercial flight, and that no one else involved in the care of Duncan would be permitted to travel “other than in a controlled environment.”

Duncan, who was diagnosed while in the U.S. after traveling from Liberia, passed away on October 8.
