Los Angeles – Google has been threatened with a multi-million dollar lawsuit over leaks of nude photos involving several celebrities. As reported by The Los Angeles Times, an attorney whose law firm is representing multiple celebrity women whose personal pictures were posted online after being stolen has threatened to file suit against the technology giant seeking at least $100 million in damages.

A demand letter sent by attorney Martin Singer addressed to the company’s co-founders and others is quoted as stating, “[B]ecause the victims are celebrities with valuable publicity rights, you do nothing – – nothing but collect millions of dollars in advertising revenue from your co-conspirator advertising partners as you seek to capitalize on this scandal rather than quash it.”

As noted in the report, Google stated on Thursday that “tens of thousands” of pictures had been taken down and numerous accounts closed in connection with the incident, which is currently being investigated by the FBI.

Among the famous women targeted in the leak are actresses Jennifer Lawrence, Vanessa Hudgens, and Lena Dunham.
