Jamaica – The U.S. Coast Guard announced Sunday that it had suspended its search for a developer and his wife whose private plane crashed near Jamaica. As reported by The Associated Press (AP), Laurence Glazer and his wife Jane crashed while on a single-engine turboprop Socata TBM700 that had flown several miles on its own prior to coming down. The couple was reportedly incapacitated.

Island military crews are stated to have covered a search area of approximately 3,750 miles before calling off the search. Floating debris had been spotted by the Jamaican military two days prior; however, officials stated that they subsequently lost sight of it due to it likely sinking.

Maj. Basil Jarrett is quoted as stating early Sunday of the progress made prior to the search being called off, “I must admit it looks very discouraging… We haven’t recovered anything as yet.”
