Worchester – A man was arrested after allegedly hitting a police cruiser and injuring two police officers while driving under the influence. As reported by the Telegram & Gazette, the officers were taken to UMass Memorial Medical Center — University Campus in Worcester to be treated for their injuries after the incident.

The SUV reportedly ran into the back of the cruiser before driving off. The vehicle was subsequently traced to Daniel Fournier, 29. After arriving at Fournier’s home, police found the vehicle with blood on it, and him lying in bed with a bleeding cut on his mouth. He was also stated to have smelled of alcohol.

According to police, Fournier appeared intoxicated at the time. Fournier was arraigned in Central District Court on Tuesday. He has since been released on bail, and is set to appear in court again October 28.
