Tiburon, CA – Actor Robin Williams, who starred in multiple classic films including “Mrs. Doubtfire” and “Dead Poets Society,” was found dead on Monday in an apparent suicide. As reported by The Huffington Post, Williams’ publicist said he had been battling depression and had previously sought treatment for alcoholism.

According to police, Williams was found in his Tiburon home around noon, unconscious. His wife, Susan Schneider, is quoted as releasing a statement to the New York Times of Williams’ death saying, “This morning, I lost my husband and my best friend, while the world lost one of its most beloved artists and beautiful human beings. I am utterly heartbroken. On behalf of Robin’s family, we are asking for privacy during our time of profound grief. As he is remembered, it is our hope that the focus will not be on Robin’s death but on the countless moments of joy and laughter he gave to millions.”

The actor, who was father to three children, was 63 years old.
