Tulsa, OK – Two officers who worked in the Tulsa Police Department have been arrested for murder. As reported by KJRH, 54-year-old Shannon Kepler, who is a 24-year veteran of the department, and his wife, Gina Kepler, were charged in the death of 19-year-old Jeremey Lake.

Lake was reportedly shot after a confrontation with Shannon Kepler. Kepler’s daughter was the girlfriend of Lake, and was present at the time of the incident. Kepler is stated to have shot at Lake and his daughter three times each. His daughter was reportedly not injured in the incident, which is still under investigation.

Shannon Kepler was arrested on charges of first-degree murder and shooting with intent to kill. His wife Gina has been charged with accessory to murder after the fact.

Chief of Police Chuck Jordan is quoted as saying in a statement following the arrests that the department is “saddened for both families involved in this tragic event.”
