Twentynine Palms, CA – A search warrant affidavit indicates the missing pregnant wife of a Marine may have been shot during a hunting trip. As reported by CBS 8, investigators also say in the records that 20-year-old Erin Corwin may have been having an affair with a married neighbor prior to her disappearance on June 28.

Corwin disappeared after allegedly telling her husband that she was going to Joshua Tree National Park.

Detective Cory Emon is quoted as writing in a probable-cause affidavit filed on July 4, a friend of the missing woman “confirmed Erin and Lee were romantically involved and Erin may be pregnant with Lee’s child.”

The detective further wrote, “It is highly likely Erin could have been harmed by an unknown firearm. Sometime after Erin left with Lee, her phone was de-activated (turned off).”

Detective Emon said in the records that the search warrant was being sought due to evidence that a felony had been committed.
