Nevada – A man who was recently paroled was arrested after telling police that he had committed a killing. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), the man Zollie Edward Dumas, 61, told investigators that he had killed a woman at motel in Reno and was subsequently booked into Washoe County Jail.

Dumas, who reportedly suffers from a mental deficiency, was paroled last year after being convicted in the 1988 murder of his fiancé.

Police say they were called to the Lucky Motel on East Fourth Street after a domestic dispute had been reported. He surrendered to authorities after they responded to the call.

An investigation into the incident continued on Monday and Dumas remained held without bail.

The victim’s name has not been released.
