Tennessee – The Robertson County Sheriff’s Office is being sued by a Robertson County Schools administrator who was previously accused of failing to report suspected child abuse. As reported by The Tennessean, veteran educator Donna Rae Dorris alleges the office pursued a “reckless and malicious course of prosecution,” leading to her arrest last year.

Charges brought against Dorris and two other educators were dismissed by prosecutors in December, after prosecutors acknowledged there was a lack of evidence to show that any crimes had occurred.

The lawsuit, which claims Dorris’ Constitutional rights had been violated, was transferred to the United States District Court in Nashville on May 20. It was filed in Robertson County Circuit Court on April 17.

Dorris is seeking $500,000 plus attorneys fees in the case.
