U.S. – The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has said that over 1,000 dog deaths have been linked to toxic jerky treats. As reported by the Huffington Post, the FDA recently issued a warning about the pet snacks, which have also reportedly contributed to more than 4,000 complaints of pet illnesses.

The agency has not yet been able to determine the reason a number of pets have gotten sick; however, several cases appear to be linked to a jerky treat imported from China, as noted in the report. A list of pet treats that have been recalled has been made available on the website of the Humane Society.

Pet owners who suspect that their dogs have consumed toxic jerky treats can make a report to the FDA by calling 1-888-INFO-FDA.
