Las Vegas – In two separate incidents in the Las Vegas valley, two pedestrians were injured after being hit by passing vehicles. As reported by the Las Vegas Sun, the first incident occurred Thursday night and involved a male pedestrian who was hit by a pickup truck while walking outside a marked crosswalk.

The driver of the pickup was subsequently arrested for driving under the influence and felony hit and run. The pedestrian was taken to University Medical Center in critical condition.

In the second incident, a 59-year-old man was struck by an SUV. He sustained serious injuries in the accident that occurred shortly after midnight on Friday. Metro police say the pedestrian appeared to have been crossing Boulder Highway and was not in a marked crosswalk. He was taken to University Medical Center for his injuries. The driver in that incident remained on the scene.

Both accidents are still being investigated.
