Florida – A Florida teacher has been fired after being accused of arranging to have a 7th grade student beat up. As reported by Yahoo! News, the teacher Dru Dehart allegedly encouraged sixth eighth graders to carry out the attack on Radravious Williams last year. The St. Lucie County School Board made the official firing this week after investigating the incident.

The incident was caught on surveillance camera at the school, which shows the teacher pointing at Williams and giving instruction to the students.

Latasha Darrisaw, Williams’ mother is quoted in the report as stating of the attack, “He said that they brought him in the hallway, and that they held him down, they kicked him, they stomped him, they beat him. And as he was trying to get away, they just basically like, continued to just torture him.”

Dehart is stated in the district’s investigative report to have “tracked down the students during lunch and contaminated their memories” following the fight.

The lawyer for the Williams family says they are planning to file a civil rights lawsuit in the matter.

Attorney, Dena Sisk Foman is quoted as stating of the case, “It is truly unbelievable what happened. A teacher ordered a hit on a child.”
