Indiana – Authorities recovered a body from a lake in northwestern Indiana on Sunday that has been identified as that of Teleka Patrick, a 30-year-old Michigan doctor who went missing in December. As reported by Reuters, authorities stated Wednesday that Patrick likely drowned.

The location where Patrick’s body was found was reportedly not far from where her car was previously found parked along an interstate with a flat fire. According to investigators, there had been previous instances of Patrick leaving Kalamazoo urgently and staying at a hotel.

Kalamazoo County Sheriff Richard Fuller is quoted as stating of Patrick during a news conference, “It was apparent that Teleka appeared to be troubled and was able to manage hiding her troubles very convincingly.”

Patrick had worked at Borgess Medical Center and was a first-year resident at Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine.
