Las Vegas – Comedian George Wallace was awarded $1.3 million in damages Tuesday for a personal injury lawsuit stemming from a leg injury he claims to have suffered during a performance in Las Vegas in 2007. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Wallace, 61, was seeking $7.1 million from the Bellagio Las Vegas hotel-casino claiming the injury caused him to lose millions in lifetime earnings.

The eight-person jury determined that Wallace should be paid $100,000 for pain and suffering and $8,500 in medical costs in addition to $1.2 million for lost income.

Wallace’s attorney, Dominic Gentile, is quoted by the AP as stating of the jury award, “I can’t say we’re thrilled by the amount of damages they found, but I think they did an honest job.”

The Bellagio is owned by MGM Resorts International.
