New York – Two journalists with CNN were arrested Tuesday after attempting to sneak into the World Trade Center in New York City. As reported by Reuters, police said the men were arrested on charges of criminal trespass, obstruction of governmental administration and disorderly conduct after trying to report on security lapses at the site.

Yon Pomrenze, 35, and Connor Fieldman Boals, 26 were taken into custody after being caught trying to get through an electronic gate. A spokesperson for CNN said the men, identified as producers with the network, were filming a report on security breaches that had recently taken place at the World Trade Center.

Barbara Levin, a CNN spokeswoman, is quoted as stating of the journalists in an email, “They were in the surrounding area to do a story about the recent incidents at the WTC and other sites…and the notion that daredevils are being drawn to them.”
