Fort Worth, TX – Famous minister T.D. Jakes has requested that a lawsuit against a former church member accused of stalking him be dropped. As reported by the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, a motion was filed last week to drop the suit against Karleisha Tarver, 31, days after it was revealed during a court hearing that she was not mentally competent to understand an order directing her to stay away from Jakes.

Tarver, who has been accused of stalking Jakes for three years, is currently in the Tarrant County jail, and is set to be transferred to the Lew Sterrett Justice Center in Dallas County. She is facing a charge of criminal trespass after being arrested for trying to enter Jakes’ church last month.

A hearing was held last week on a temporary injunction during which Tarver was unresponsive to questions she was asked by the judge.

Tom Hall, a Fort Worth attorney appointed by state District Judge Susan McCoy to represent Tarver, is quoted in the report as stating of the case, “It is very difficult to go forward with a case like this with Tarver’s mental condition.”
