Los Angeles – A woman who continued to drive her vehicle while a man lay dying on her windshield claims she can’t recall hitting him. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Sherry Lynn Wilkins recently testified in court that she panicked during the incident and drove until being told by other motorists to pull over.

Wilkins, 52, reportedly drove through a suburb in Los Angeles for two miles after hitting 31-year-old Phillip Moreno with her vehicle. The impact of Moreno flipping on the car was stated to have punched a hole in the windshield.

Wilkins is quoted by the AP as stating of the events of the incident in 2012 in Torrence, “It was a flash… I pretty much felt him landing on my window. To me, it felt like he came from the sky.”

Prosecutors say the blood alcohol level of Wilkins, who revealed her history of addiction to jurors, was over the legal limit at the time of the incident. Wilkins pleaded not guilty to charges of murder, DUI and hit-and-run in the case.
