New Jersey – Starbucks has filed a lawsuit after accusing a New Jersey based firm of providing the coffee chain with inferior sandwich meat. As reported by USA Today, the lawsuit has been filed against New Jersey firm Wellshire Farms Inc. and Maryland business, Hahn Bros. Inc. over allegedly being supplied a product that wasn’t the Black Forest ham it was supposed to be given.

As noted in the report, the coffee giant contends it was supposed to be given a different quality of sandwich meat than what was provided for breakfast and lunch sandwiches. Wellshire denies that there was any wrongdoing.

The lawsuit is quoted as stating, “Starbucks, however, did not know, and Wellshire failed to reveal, the fact that the ham with Wellshire’s name on it was actually produced (by Hahn).”

Starbucks has asserted that a number of consumer complaints prompted an investigation into the source of the ham, leading to the discovery of where it was produced.
