California – The woman dubbed “Fit Mom” following a controversial post on Facebook was temporarily banned from the site this week. As reported by Good Morning America, Maria Kang was purported to have been banned over her complaints in a post about the positive media coverage given to a group online that encourages the posting of photos of plus-size women in lingerie.

Kang previously sparked controversy with the posting of a photo of herself and three children with the tag line “What’s Your Excuse?” referring to her fit physique. She is quoted as stating of the criticism surrounding her photo, “People made me feel bad about posting a picture of me and my children… When you see someone who is healthy it’s almost so shocking. … We’ve gone to a point where we’re normalizing [a health] crisis.”

Kang purported she feared the attention given by the media regarding the group was “normalizing” obesity. Kang’s posts about the group were deleted by Facebook after being flagged by a reader; however, according to a report by ABC news affiliate KGO in San Francisco, Facebook said the post was removed by mistake and her access to the site was reinstated.
