Missoula, Montana – An injured South Carolina man became trapped in his rental vehicle following a car accident in Montana. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Shaun Lee, 30, told reporters that he waited for help and prayed while stuck in the upside down vehicle for over a day after it veered off the road and rolled down an embankment.

Lee had reportedly been traveling from South Carolina to look for oil field work in North Dakota, and subsequently decided to visit an aunt in Montana. Lee is quoted by the AP as stating of crashing after having taken a few wrong turns, “Emergency brake on, got the foot brake on… It’s going faster and faster. Next thing I know she flipped upside-down and boom.”

A Forest Service employee called for help after spotting Lee’s vehicle. Responders cut him out of the car and he was taken to a Missoula hospital to be treated.
