Los Angeles – The daughter of late model and television personality Anna Nicole Smith, Dannielynn Birkhead, may inherit $49 million resulting from an extensive legal battle involving Smith’s estate. As reported by Us Weekly, a federal judge in California made a decision in the case Wednesday ending the battle over millions of dollars from the estate of Smith’s elderly husband J. Howard Marshall II, who died a year after they married.

In the decision rendered last week for the case, which has lasted for more than a decade, the judge imposed sanctions against the estate of his late son, Pierce Howard Marshall, for delaying tactics purportedly used.

U.S. District Judge David O. Carter is quoted in the report as stating in his decision, “Pierce’s bad faith conduct was too pervasive and too egregious to be ignored, despite the fact that he has since passed away. It would promote disrespect for the authority of the federal courts to turn a blind eye to actions that so willfully and blatantly attempted to make a mockery of this justice system. Further, it would reward a party for win-at-all-costs tactics, to the deprivation of his opponent. Such behavior cannot be condoned.”
