New Jersey – A worker at an Oregon meat plant died after falling into a running blender. As reported by The Inquisitr, the workplace accident occurred while 41-year-old Hugo Avalos-Chanon was cleaning in the plant. He was discovered Friday night.

Another worker purportedly attempted to stop the blender, but was not able to do it in time.

Dr. Cliff Young, a deputy state medical examiner, is quoted in the report as attributing Hugo Avalos-Chanon’s death to “blunt-force injuries and chopping wounds.”

Oregon OSHA spokeswoman Melanie Mesaros is quoted in the report as stating of the investigation into the accident and making a determination of fault, “It’s way too early to say. We’re just starting our investigation, which could take six months.”
