Connecticut – Connecticut governor Dannel P. Malloy has signed into law new measures for gun control. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), the new restrictions on weapons and large capacity ammunition magazines were signed into law Thursday, four months after the Connecticut elementary school shooting tragedy that resulted in the deaths of several students.

As noted in the report, some of the family members of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting victims were present at the signing of the bill, which had received approval by the General Assembly hours prior.

Malloy is quoted by the AP as stating, “This is a profoundly emotional day for everyone in this room… We have come together in a way that few places in the nation have demonstrated the ability to do.”
