Man Loses 2 Fingers in Workplace Accident at Readington Farms Plant

Readington Township, NJ — A work-related accident at Readington Farms, a distributor of dairy and other products, lost two of his fingers on Thursday, March 21, 2013. The workplace accident occurred at the company on Mill Road just after 10:30 a.m., reported NJ.com.

According to reports, the 33-year-old Bangor resident was cleaning an overhead track that moves milk cases through the plant when his fingers were severed. The track was not in operation when the accident occurred.

The victim was conscious when emergency medical teams arrived at the scene. He was rushed by Whitehouse Rescue Squad to the trauma center for medical treatment.

It is unknown at this time what exactly caused the man to lose his fingers.

Readington Township police and the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is investigating.
