Brooklyn, New York – A 79-year-old man, James Jackson, was reportedly shot and killed in his Brooklyn apartment on Sunday by an unknown assailant. As reported by the Christian Post, the man’s wife, who is reportedly blind, made a 911 call reporting the incident and that her husband was unresponsive early Sunday morning.

Jackson was found with a gunshot wound to the neck and pronounced dead after being taken to the hospital.

Authorities are still investigating the incident after finding no evidence of a break in in trying to determine the circumstances of Jackson’s death.

Jackson’s neighbor, Vaughn Grandy, is quoted in the report as stating of the incident, “Why would anyone harm him? It would take him 20 minutes to walk down the block.”
