NJ Senator Buono Injured in Car Accident

Franklin Township, NJ — New Jersey State Senator Barbara Buono (D – Middlesex) was injured in a car accident in Central New Jersey on Tuesday, February 12, 2013. The automobile accident occurred around 8 p.m. in Franklin Township, reported Philly.com.

According to reports, Senator Buono, who was the main Democratic challenger against Gov. Christie, suffered a cut to her forehead in the accident.

The vehicle, in which Senator Buono was riding in the back seat and an aide was driving, collided with an oncoming car as it was making a turn. Neither driver was injured in the wreck.

Senator Buono was transported to the hospital as a precaution where she was treated and released.

“Senator Buono is extremely grateful that no one was seriously injured in the accident, and thanks everyone who has called, emailed, or messaged their thoughts and good wishes,” according to campaign spokesman David Turner.
