Los Angeles – A judge has granted actress Alyson Hannigan a restraining order from a man who allegedly posted threatening messages about her online. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Hannigan obtained the temporary restraining order Wednesday, which requires John Hobbs, whom she purportedly has never met, to stay away from her in addition to refraining from posting messages about the “How I Met Your Mother” star online.

Hannigan is quoted as writing in her petition, “I am in severe fear for my safety and the safety of my family.” Hobbs is stated to have been recently released from a mental hospital.

Hannigan’s husband and their two children are also covered under the restraining order.
