Houston – Johnson & Johnson has been ordered to pay a Houston law firm $181 million in legal fees. As reported by Reuters, Arkansas state judge Tim Fox ordered the fees to be paid to Bailey Perrin Bailey in connection with a previous $1.2 billion award granted in a 2007 lawsuit against the company linked to risks associated with the antipsychotic judge Risperdal.

Spokeswoman Teresa Mueller is quoted in the report as stating of the fees in a statement, “The fee awarded represents about $19,700 per hour for each of the outside attorneys and staff who worked on the case for the state, based on our reconstruction of their actual time.”

Johnson & Johnson is reportedly planning to appeal the award as well as the legal fees.
