Sao Paulo – A Brazilian judge has ordered that the erotic novel “50 Shades of Grey” by British author E.L. James, be sealed and placed out of the reach of those under age 18 in bookstores. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Judge Raphael Queiroz Campos issued his order earlier this week after witnessing minors looking through erotic books in a bookstore as noted in a recent statement released by the Rio de Janeiro State Judiciary Department.

As noted by the AP, the judge’s decision was based on a law that stipulates, “magazines and publications whose content is improper or inadequate for children and adolescents can only be sold if sealed and with warnings regarding their content.”

James’ books, including others in the trilogy “Fifty Shades Freed” and “Fifty Shades Darker,” were reportedly the most sold in Brazil last year.
