Los Angeles – The family members of four plane crash victims who died with singer Jenni Rivera when the Learject 25 they were traveling in nosedived from 28,000 feet have filed a lawsuit. As reported by Reuters, the co-passengers’ relatives have sued Rivera’s corporation and the former and present owners of the plane.

The plaintiffs’ attorney, Paul Kiesel, is quoted by Reuters as stating of the case, “We are trying to unravel the mystery of how this came to be. Who selected this plane, what condition was this plane in and how did these pilots get behind the stick of this aircraft?… We want to provide answers for my clients and for the community mourning these brilliant lives.”

Rivera and the other passengers were reportedly flying from Monterrey, Mexico to Mexico City when the December 9 crash occurred. Rivera was set to make an appearance on “The Voice Mexico.”
