New York – A New York City gym teacher has accused a 6-year-old student of assault. As reported by The New York Post, the teacher, John Webster, is alleging that an attack by a first-grade student left him with injuries to his knee and ankle and led to his requiring treatment for stress.

A school report was filed in April by the principle regarding an incident in which Webster was stated to have been kicked in the knee and ankle by the student.

Webster is quoted by the New York Post as stating of the incident, “I tried to hold his wrists, and he began biting me… I took him to the principal’s office, and he kicked me in the ankle, and one kick landed right on my knee. I felt a pop.”

Josefa Marcia da Silva, the mother of the student, is further quoted as stating, “To every mother, their child is an angel… I know that he has problems, but he doesn’t deserve to be called such names.”
